Miriam is an experienced physiotherapist who is passionate about women's health physiotherapy and enabling women to exercise appropriately throughout pregnancy and after having their baby.Miriam has specialist skills in the treatment of urinary incontinence, faecal incontinence, prolapse, pelvic floor dysfunction and pelvic pain. She also trained with Maria Elliot completing the Mummy MOT training in 2019 and sees ladies with pregnancy related pelvic girdle pain during pregnancy and post Nataly as well as treating ladies with diastasis recti (tummy gap).
Miriam is also an APPI certified Pilates Instructor and is enthusiastic about combining her love of Pilates in her treatments.
Miriam graduated from Birmingham University in 2007 with a first-class honour and started her career in the South West working in Plymouth and Bristol before finding her way back to the Midlands.
Prior to specialising in Pelvic Health Miriam gained a wide variety of experience within the NHS and has worked in women's health in Warwick, Good Hope and Solihull hospitals locally. She also gained valuable experience at Birmingham children's Hospital and worked with children and adults with cystic fibrosis for four years enabling consolidation of musculoskeletal and respiratory skills and assessment of breathing dynamics which she utilises in assessing women's health clients.
Outside physiotherapy Miriam has two young children and loves being outdoors with them. She is also a keen runner and cyclist.
