Physio run Potty Training workshop at the Busy Bees UHB Nursery
Last Thursday night at the wonderful Busy Bees nursery at University Hospital Birmingham one of our wonderful kid’s bladder and bowel specialist Physiotherapists Mrs Alina Esh managed to get 25 parents attention with a potty training workshop. Alina talked about the different approaches for potty training and what is normal for the kids. What can go wrong and the importance of specialist kids bladder and bowel physiotherapy when things go wrong. She explained how the basic mile stones of development can affect their bladder and bowel control and also how much advice, help and support we can give as a clinic. She talked about the impact that delated motor development can have on bladder and bowel control and the role of good exercise and activity.
Not only do we have Alina but we also have Miss Lisa Hastie who is a UK leading kid’s bowel and bladder physio also. They also do lots to help kids with constipation, toileting anxiety, bed wetting, difficulties weaning from nappies and those kids with a weak bladder. They also see lots of sporty kids especially gymnasts who have some mild urinary leakage.
The nursery management were thrilled with the big turn up and felt they learned lots as well. Now they are thinking of running this workshop every 6 months.
Hopefully from here with their help we can help more children and more families. To see what Alina and Lisa do click on the links below.
